Morvant shooting is now a double murder after a second victim dies at the hospital.
Uncutt understand that Akiel Rodriguez aka Germs of Romain Lands, St. Francois Valley Road, Mirvant, died at the scene of the shooting.
Another man identified as Christopher Fitzroy Towne of Mon Repos Road in Morvant was taken to the Mt. Hope Hospital hospital by EHS personnel where he was declared dead.
Akiel's younger brother, Atiba Rodriguez, and Jessie James, both of Romain Lands in Morvant, were shot and killed in a double murder on Saturday 18th February along Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook.
Around 9.15 pm on Friday 17th March 2023, police responded to a report about a shooting near the Walkover, already Young Road, Morvant.
Upon arrival, officers found two men on opposite sides of the roadway with gunshot injuries on their bodies and several persons at the scene.
Towne, who showed signs of life at the scene, was taken to the hospital but was declared dead at the A&E Department by Dr. Barbosa.
The DMO Dr. Ojar visited the scene and pronounced Akiel dead at the scene and ordered the body removed pending an autopsy at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St. James.
Investigations are continuing into the double killing.
