Around 4 am on 11 –02 –23 the victim Dwayne Gomes of 18 mm main road Tabaquite a Lance Corporal with the TTDF regimental number 12163.
Was at estacy bar main road tabaquite when one man unknown to him pulled out a silver and black metal object resembling a firearm and looked at his direction and shouted yuh go dead today.
The victim was then able to recover the firearm and subdue said man and while awaiting the arrival of the police.
He then observed the said man with assistance of another male unknown to him walking off and proceeding towards the tabaquite basketball court.
The victim then followed as to ensure the whereabouts upon the arrival of the police said to men then began walking towards the victim where one man shouted give me my f**king gun and a struggle ensued and the victim became fearful for his life and pulled out his service pistol and fired several shot in the direction of the said man.
His accomplice thereafter then picked up the firearm and pointed it at the victim who again became fearful for his life and fired several shots at the said man. Both men fell to the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The men were then conveyed to the Couva health facility where around 6am both men were pronounced DOA by Dr Sita Ramsingh.
