A Maloney woman was stabbed in her throat by her ex boyfriend on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as 18-year-old Aytannya Richards of Building 11, Maloney Gardens, D’abadie.
Residents later chased, caught, and beat the suspect Marlon Madoo before he was handed over to the police.
Around 11:00 am, Richards was at home with her 2-year-old daughter when her ex boyfriend and child’s father 24-year-old Marlon Madoo of Race Course Road, Carapo, Arima, arrived.
An argument ensued which resulted in Madoo pulling out a black flick knife and stabbed Richards in the neck and back before fleeing on foot.
Richards was taken to the Arima district hospital where she was treated and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where she remains warded in a serious but stable condition.
Around 11:15 am, officers of the La Horquetta Police Station were in the Maloney district when they observed Madoo being pursued by a mob of persons.
Upon investigating, they were informed that he was involved in a stabbing and he was arrested.
